MIND LOUNGE & PEACEFUL PATIO

The Mind Lounge & Peaceful Patio, started by 1st grade teacher Mrs. Barney-Nicholson, was created to make a space for students to practice mindfulness. Mindfulness is being present in the moment and has been linked to improving academic and social emotional learning. Students visit this space during lunch recess and participate in mindful activities including coloring, reading, stacking blocks, deep breathing exercises, puzzles, and more.

VOLUNTEER

Email Matilda Sung at [email protected] if you are able to help in the Mind Lounge. We need parents to help so we can open it for the students that love this peaceful place!

MOBILE MIND LOUNGE

The Mobile Mind Lounge is set-up on the playground area and brings a variety of mindfulness activities to the students.

SEL WEEK

Social & Emotional Learning Week is March 2-6, 2025. Each day of the SEL Week students participate in activities that relate to the five SEL core competencies.
