What Does $350 Buy?

 Your PTA has always worked to support Pennekamp's tradition of excellence and spends an average of $350 per student every year to that end. Because of ongoing state budget challenges, PTA will step up that support. This year's donations will ensure not only the continuation of important programs, but will also provide support necessary for the day-to-day operation of our children's school.

Enrichment Programs
We all want our children to receive a solid education in the "three r's." We also want our children to have a finer experience by way of the arts, culture and science. To this end, your PTA donation supports the following programs:

* Artists-in-Residence—where local artists teach drama, dance and art to eager students.
* Young at Art and Cultural Art Assemblies
* Science Fair
* Grades of Green and Growing Great Garden
* Author's Week

Technology
Your PTA keeps Pennekamp's students current by providing the most exciting and engaging technologies. Examples of such support are:

* "SmartBoards" for every classroom, as well as supplemental training so teachers can immediately use SmartBoards to create dynamic and engaging lesson plans.
* Computers and affiliated equipment in the Computer Lab to ensure our students learn with current technology.

Operational Support
Not only does your PTA membership enrich education, it also funds critical support for the safe and effective operation of Pennekamp.

* Health and Office Assistants
* Campus safety program
* Campus enhancements such as storage sheds, weekend gardening and landscaping

Equipment and Materials
Your PTA investment also supplies many of the materials necessary for a well-equipped school.

* All new library books
* Teacher funds and curriculum enhancements
* All front office supplies
* Science Lab equipment
